Recent releases of CDM include several exciting new features. Read on to learn more, or take a look at the Recent Releases section for a full listing of what was included in each release.

CDM Is Now Available on the insightsoftware Platform

insightsoftware is building a Cloud platform to unify our applications and enable our customers to solve multiple business problems faster and with less risk, by picking and choosing the capabilities you need from across reporting, controllership, and budgeting and planning.

With the Platform, everything starts in one place. Our vision is that your business users will have one place to sign-in, launch their applications, and access learning and support resources, and that your administrators will have one place to manage users, licenses, and data source connectivity.

CDM is certified with insightsoftware’s Platform. Current capabilities include user management, single sign-on (SSO), and license management.

New customers are already benefiting from the Platform experience. As we continue to expand the Platform’s capabilities over the coming months, we will start engaging with existing customers to discuss the benefits of moving onto the Platform.

General-Purpose Improvements

Modernized Design: The CDM Desktop Client now features a modern and intuitive design that makes it even easier to find what you need and get work done quickly. We've updated the icons, left-side navigation, and user profile area for a more streamlined experience.

Faster Data Refresh: Experience a significant boost in performance when refreshing data from SQL, Essbase, and External Excel Files. Our enhanced refresh engine leverages advanced optimization techniques to minimize processing time, ensuring your insights are always up-to-date and available when you need them. This means less waiting and more time to analyze and act on your data.

Improved Query Builder Flexibility: The query builder has become even more flexible. You can now execute stored procedures from your database using the "exec" and "execute" commands in your SQL scripts, providing you with greater control over your data.

Seamless PDF Report Viewing: PDF reports now open seamlessly using your default browser setting. This eliminates the need for additional steps when accessing your reports.

Security Updates: By using the default OS browser, you can now benefit from existing security settings defined by your organization. CDM can now redirect the authentication to use the default OS browser instead of the WPF embedded browser.

Enhanced Collaboration: The Excel Analysis Dashboard now displays report objects with inherited workflow, providing a more comprehensive view of your team's progress and facilitating better collaboration. This feature eliminates the need to switch between multiple tools or manually track the status of different report components, streamlining the review and approval process.

Improved XBRL Functionality

Tag Inspector Enhancements: Supercharge your tag management process with the Tag Inspector, an advanced analytics and management tool that enables you to work with your tag data conveniently and effortlessly. With the Tag Inspector, you can sort, group, and filter results and create custom groupings to review your data. You also can manipulate columns, display all tags in a report object, and navigate directly to the tag’s content in the report from the Tag Inspector.

ESMA ESEF Performance Boost: You can now effortlessly toggle between tagging and non-tagging scenarios without compromising speed or efficiency. This is especially valuable for organizations that frequently work in non-tagging environments, as it allows them to maintain productivity and focus on their core tasks.

Paragraph Tagging Made Easy: With the new paragraph tagging functionality, you can automatically tag entire paragraphs with a single click. This eliminates the tedious and time-consuming process of manually selecting each individual word or phrase, saving you valuable time and effort.

Final ESRS XBRL Taxonomy Enhancements:CDM now supports tagging Extensible Enumerations and Boolean Item Types, ensuring more accurate and consistent tagging of complex data elements. This is especially important for organizations that need to report on complex financial information, such as sustainability metrics or non-financial data.

IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Taxonomy: Streamline your sustainability reporting process with the newly integrated IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Taxonomy. This comprehensive taxonomy provides a standardized framework for tagging sustainability-related data, ensuring consistency and accuracy in your disclosures.

HD Generation Enhancements

  • Enhanced image generation to support image shading
  • Introducing a new report option "Replace Embedded Fonts in HD" (True/False – default False), which allows for the replacement of an embedded font when Chromium browsers fail to decode it.

  • Increased Report Design Flexibility: You can now design reports and documents with shapes featuring gradients that radiate outward from a central point. This update gives you more creative freedom to design documents that truly stand out.

Enhanced Reporting Capabilities

  • Precision and Control: Dictate the exact height of each cell in your report, ensuring a polished and professional look.
  • Dynamic Adaptation: Select whether cell height should expand automatically to accommodate longer text, providing a clean and uncluttered layout.
  • Tailored Reports: Create reports that perfectly match your specific needs and preferences. The Report Row Height property offers two options:
    • False: Cell height remains fixed, regardless of text length.
    • True: Cell height expands dynamically to fit the text content, mimicking the behavior of cell wrapping.
