Query Variables

A query variable is a variable that is used to filter data source queries. You can add report object-level query variables in CDM. Query variables are inherited from the report-level variables and their properties are further customized.

Inherit an Object-Level Query Variable

In CDM, you can copy a report-level query variable to the object-level variables table and apply properties to it.

1. Open the report that you want to work with.
2. Open and check out the Excel object that you want to edit.
3. Click the Data tab on the ribbon, then click Report Object-Level Variables.
4. Select the variable to inherit in the Report Query Variables table.
5. Click the arrow or drag the variable into the Report Object Query Variables table.
6. Click OK.
7. Save your changes to the Excel object.
8. Save your changes to the report and check in the Excel object.
