Show Formatting Marks
To make formatting in Microsoft Word easier, turn on the display of formatting marks (also referred to as non-printing characters).
In the Home tab, click the pilcrow icon ¶ to toggle on or off Show/Hide Formatting Marks, or press Ctrl+*.
