Data Refresh

CDM uses a data cache to manage the data from data sources. Expiration policies determine when that cached data is obsolete.

Refresh Menu Option

Quick Refresh

Quick refresh updates all data in all report objects in the current report. The update comes from cached data from the data source, but does not retrieve new data from the data source.

You can also use quick refresh if there are no data source connections or queries.

Full Refresh

The full refresh first updates all data from the external data sources, and then updates all data in all report objects in the current project/report.

Methods to Refresh

You can use the following methods to refresh:

  • With a report open, click Home > Refresh Report > Quick Refresh Report/Full Refresh Report.
  • When you generate any output type for a report or selected objects, if Perform Full Refresh is checked.
  • When you generate inline XBRL, depending on the refresh option selected.
