Menu Options of the Project Module
Within the Project module of the CDM desktop client, several menu options are provided for managing the project and its documents.
Reload
Updates the project document tree with changes that have been made by other team members.
Reset
Resets project to an empty state and deletes all existing documents and associated metadata (e.g. comments, XBRL fact approval/rejection). This will reset the project in Certent 365 as well. Only a project owner can reset.
Web Enabled
Web enabled projects and corresponding documents and files will be available in Certent 365 to review, file, and edit. This feature can be toggled on and off as necessary for each project. Only a project owner can set web enabled.
Assign XBRL Project
Associates an XBRL project so XBRL facts can be generated (if applicable). If a project owner changes an associated XBRL project, all documents will be reset/deleted from the project, including any associated metadata (e.g. comments, XBRL fact approval/rejection). Only a project owner can assign or modify the XBRL Project.
Rebuild Structure
Rebuilds the underlying document structure based on any changes done at the CDM Report level. This will potentially add/remove documents and their associated metadata based on the changes performed at Report level (for instance, removal of custom group).
Reload
Reloads the document in the preview pane to see any new generations that may have been done by another team member.
Add
Adds a new document to the project. A wizard will be displayed prompting you to define document and generation output properties.
- Select the document format. Currently, Microsoft Word is the only format available.
- Give your document a name.
- Select customized group.
- Define additional preferences such as whether to include exhibits and generate charts as images.
- Once the document properties have been defined, select the output format and validation options. These options will be preserved and reused each time any project team member generates the Project.
Delete
Removes a document from the project and its associated metadata.
Open
Opens the selected document in the web client Reviewer or other options as indicated.
Generates the selected document or the entire project and all the documents. These generations are available for all team members to view and mitigates the need for "individual" generations.
Generation automatically leverages the settings as defined in the Generation Setup wizard without needing to reset each time. Generation progress will be displayed:
Note: Associated metadata will be preserved if the underlying document structure is maintained (for example, document, section, and fact) during subsequent generations.
Generation Setup
Configures generation settings to select the output of the selected document, and specify the formatting and validation options. Available output types are: EDGAR HTML, Inline XBRL, and HTML.
Set As Primary
Allows you to set the single document that you would like to have open by default within the Certent 365 Project Details page. Other documents within the project can be opened via the Documents tile within the Project Details page.
Download
Downloads the document and all associated files based on jurisdictional requirements. For example, an ESMA inline document will have the inline XHTML file, taxonomy files, and Word document.
Preview Document
Users can preview any document in the project along with any warnings or errors received while generating the document and view the last time external data was refreshed.
To preview a document, double-click the document or right-click it and select Generate. The document will be displayed in the object pane along with date and time of last generation. If the document has not been generated, you will be prompted to generate the document before you can preview as seen below:
