Validation Error: fromRefs Attribute of Relationship

Error Messages

You may see error messages referring to fromRef, such as, in Arelle:

[ix11.13.1.2:relationshipFromRef] Inline XBRL fromRef ID_000 is not a fraction, ix:nonFraction, ix:nonNumeric or a ix:tuple. ...

or, in CDM:

EFM5.2.5.2
EFM 5.2.5.2 An Inline XBRL document must be valid with respect to the Inline XBRL 1.1 specification, some tokens ('ID_000') of fromRefs attribute of ix:relationship element (id='') do not match id attribute of Inline XBRL element.

Generic Inline
some tokens ('ID=000') of fromRefs attribute of ix:relationship element (id='') do not match id attribute of Inline XBRL element.

Cause

This error may be caused by a footnote link that is applied to a non-numeric tag, such as a text block tag, in iXBRL.

Solution

Do not apply footnotes to non-numeric tags; remove and reapply the footnote to apply to a numeric fact.
