Add Files to the Cache Manager

You can add one or more files to the Cache Manager in CDM XBRL, preview the content of the files, and copy the URL address of any file to the clipboard for temporary use.

Add a File to the Cache Manager

  1. Click the Home tab, then in the Navigation pane, click Administration.
  2. Under XBRL, double-click Cache Manager.
  3. In the Cache Manager tab in the work area, if required, select the folder in the navigation tree to which you want to add files.
  4. If the Cache Manager contains any content, make sure that either a folder or nothing is selected. If a file is selected, you cannot add a file to the Cache Manager.
  5. Click Home > Add > Files.
  6. In the Add Files window, enter the actual or intended base URL of the file or files in the Base URL field or accept the default.

Important: Files are added to the folder that has the same name as the base URL that is displayed. All base URLs must start with http:// in the URL. If no existing folder matches the base URL, a new folder is created at the root and the files are added to it.

  7. If required, select the Overwrite existing files, if any checkbox.
  8. Click Add Files.
  9. Navigate to and select the file or files that you want to add. Click Open. The file or files that you selected are listed in the Add Files window.
  10. Review the list of files that you are adding. Select any files that you do not want to add and click Delete.
  11. Click OK. The files are added to the Cache Manager.

Preview the Content of a File in the Cache Manager

  1. In the Cache Manager, navigate to and right-click the file that you want to preview.
  2. Select View. The file is downloaded to a temporary location on the local computer and displayed in the default application for that type of file.

Copy the URL Address of a File in the Cache Manager

You can select a file in the Cache Manager and copy its entire URL address to the clipboard for temporary use. To do so:

  1. In the Cache Manger, right-click the file whose URL address you want to copy and select Copy address.
  2. The URL address of the file is copied to the clipboard.
