Dimensional Relationships for Relationship Groups

You can add dimensional relationships for each relationship group in the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor.

Restriction: This information is applicable to US SEC filers only.

  • Table element names must end with [Table].
  • Axis element names must end with [Axis].
  • Domain member element names must end with [Domain] or [Member].

Add a Table, Dimension, or Domain Member to a Relationship Group

You can use the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor to add a new a table, dimension, or domain member to a relationship group in the Dimensions pane.

  1. Open the extension taxonomy you want to work with.
  2. In the Relationship Groups tab, select the Display checkbox for the relationship group.
  3. In the Dimensions pane, right-click the relationship group and click Check out. The relationship group is checked out.
  4. Right-click the relationship group and click one of the following items: Add Table, Add Axis, or Add Domain.
  5. Select Add Child. The Search Elements window opens.
  6. Enter the name of the new element in the Search field, and click New Element. The element is added in the Dimensions pane.

Add Table, Dimension, or Domain Member with a Bound Label to a Relationship Group

You can use the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor to add an element whose label is bound to an Excel cell to the Dimensions pane.

  1. Open the report you want to work with.
  2. Open the extension taxonomy.
  3. In the Relationship Groups tab, select the Display checkbox for the relationship group.
  4. In the Dimensions pane, right-click the relationship group and click Check out. The relationship group is checked out.
  5. Open and check out the Excel object you want to work with.
  6. In the Excel object, select the cell that you want to bind to.
  7. Right-click the relationship group and click one of the following items: Add Table, Add Axis, or Add Domain.
  8. Select Add Child with Bound Label. The Search Elements window opens. The label from the third step appears in the Search field.
  9. Click New Element. The table, dimension, or domain member is added in the Dimensions pane, and its label is bound to the Excel cell.

Add a Table, Dimension, or Domain Member from the Base Taxonomy to a Relationship Group

You can use the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor to add a new a table, dimension, or domain member from the base taxonomy to a relationship group in the Dimensions pane.

  1. Open the extension taxonomy.
  2. In the Relationship Groups tab, select the Display checkbox for the relationship group.
  3. In the Dimensions pane, right-click the relationship group and click Check out. The relationship group is checked out.
  4. Right-click the relationship group and click one of the following items: Add Table, Add Axis, or Add Domain.
  5. Select Add Child. The Search Elements window opens.
  6. Enter the search string of the element in the Search window. Use the Show menu to filter the search.
  7. Click Search. The search results open.
  8. Use Edit Filter to create any additional filters.
  9. Double-click the element. The element is added in the Dimensions pane, and the element is highlighted blue to indicate that it is sourced from the base taxonomy.
