Rebuild the Search Index for a Taxonomy

You can use CDM XBRL to rebuild the search index for an XBRL taxonomy.

A search index makes it easier to search the Pivot Grid. You can search the Pivot Grid to quickly find relationship groups and tables in projects. Rebuild a search index for each taxonomy to make sure that the index is up to date.

Note the following about search index generation in CDM:

  • When a taxonomy is imported, CDM builds a search index for that taxonomy.
  • If the search index build fails on import, the first time a user searches the taxonomy, CDM attempts to rebuild the search index.
  • When a taxonomy is generated from the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor to CDM, the search index is rebuilt.

To rebuild the search index for a taxonomy:

  1. Click the Home tab, then in the Navigation Pane , click Administration.
  2. Under XBRL, double-click Taxonomies.
  3. In the Taxonomies tab in the work area, right-click the taxonomy where you want to rebuild the search index and select Rebuild Search Index.
  4. You can view the progress in the All processes completed window in the status bar. While processes are running, the title bar shows the number of running processes. When the processes are finished, the title is All processes completed.
