Add a Label to an Element

You can use the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor to add a label to an element in the Primary Items pane.

  1. Open the extension taxonomy.
  2. In the Relationship Groups tab, select the Display checkbox for the relationship group you want to work with.
  3. In the Primary Items pane, select the element.
  4. Click the Element Properties tab in the Extension Taxonomies pane.
  5. Click the Add Label icon Add Relationship Group Icon. A new row is added to the Labels subtab.
  6. In the Labels subtab, enter the label text in the Label Text field of the new row and press Enter.
  7. Define the label type and language for the label by using the appropriate options.
  8. To bind the label to a cell, select the Excel cell, and select Bind To Cell.
  9. If the label is non-discoverable, the Non-Discoverable icon Non-Discoverable Icon displays with the label text. Optionally, you can prohibit the label by clicking in the Prohibited column. The Prohibited icon Prohibited Icon displays, indicating that the label is prohibited.
  10. Click Save.

Select the Preferred Label Type

You can modify the preferred label type for an element in the Primary Items pane.

  1. In the Relationship Groups tab, select the Display checkbox for the relationship group you want to work with.
  2. Right-click the element in the Primary Items pane and select Select Preferred Label Type. The list of labels opens.
  3. Select the preferred label type from the list. A check mark appears beside the label and all other labels that have the same label type.
  4. Click Save.
