The Relationship Groups Tab
The Relationship Groups tab in the Extension Taxonomies pane of the CDM Extension Taxonomy Editor is used to create or edit relationship groups for statements, disclosures, and documentation.
Note: Relationship groups from the base taxonomy are displayed in the table, and are read-only.
The Relationship Groups tab contains the following columns:

Checked Out
Displays an icon to indicate if the relationship group is checked out. The Check out icondisplays, indicating that the relationship group is checked out, and other users cannot modify it. If the Locked icon
is displayed for a relationship group, it has been checked out by another user.

Purpose
Used to perform further SEC validation checking. The icon in the column indicates the purpose of the item: Balance Sheet, Income Statement
, or None/Not Assigned
.

Display
When this option is selected, the relationship group and its concepts are displayed in the Primary Items pane. The dimensional relationships for the group are displayed in the Dimensions pane. -
Bind to Cell
Used to bind the description of a relationship group to a specific cell in the report object. -
Sequence
Displays the sequence number for the relationship group. It is automatically generated and is used to control the ordering of the provided statements and disclosures. -
Type
This column is used to select the applicable relationship group type to build the relationship group's description in the generated taxonomy. -
Description
The name that you define for the relationship group that you are creating. Generally, the description corresponds to the title of the statement or disclosure as used on that statement or disclosure. Sometimes it includes specific information such as parenthetical or unaudited. -
Preview
After you type a descriptive name in the Description column, CDM XBRL automatically generates and displays in this column a complete name in the correct format, including the sequence number and selected relationship group type. The name is displayed in the following format:Sequence Number - Type - DescriptionEx. 0100 - Statement - Statement of Shareholders' Equity

Relationship Group
The name of the relationship group in the formhttp://{Company URL}/role/{Description}, whereCompany URLis the website that is defined in the Taxonomy Namespace step, and Description is the value in the corresponding Description cell. A relationship group that is highlighted indicates that its description is bound to content in an object.Tip: By default, the Relationship Group column is hidden. To display the column, use the Column Chooser feature.
You can use the Column Chooser option to hide or unhide columns. To access this option, right-click a column header and click Column Chooser. The Customization window opens and you can drag columns to customize the layout of the Relationship Groups table.
Note: To add relationships to a relationship group, you must first check out that relationship group. To check out relationship groups, right-click the row and click the Check out icon in the icon panel.
You can use the following icons in the icon panel to manage relationship groups:
