24.2.0 Release Notes
May 2024
CDM Client: (Core | Filing | XBRL) 24.2.0
CDM Server: 24.2.0
This is a CDM general incremental release that aims to enhance the existing product features and address a series of defects found on previous versions.
Features
Client
- Open PDF report objects using default browser control
- CDM UI/UX enhancements, including icons, the left Navigation Pane, and User Profile
- Read-only PowerPoint objects cannot be checked out. When a PPT has the read-only attribute, CDM now displays a pop-up with the "Edit Anyway" and "Cancel" options. If accepted, CDM removes the read-only attribute and opens the document. This means that the "Mark as Final" option remains and the next time the report object is opened. If the "Mark as Final" checkbox is cleared, CDM no longer asks for confirmation as the report is no longer read-only.
- Whitelist the "exec" and "execute" keywords in Query Builder, so that it allows the execution of SQL scripts containing the keywords. This change enhances flexibility and usability.
HTML Generations
- Add support for the radial gradient type filling of the shape
XBRL
General
- Arelle update to 2.25.4
- Improved performance and user experience on refresh
CIPC
- Support the CIPC 2023 Taxonomy

- Update Transformation Registry to TR 5 for CIPC Jurisdiction
ESMA ESEF
- Ability to define "https://" for Company URL for ESMA XBRL Project
- XBRL Calculation 1.1 added as an option when generating an inline XBRL project for ESMA jurisdiction
SEC

- DQC Ruleset update to version 23.0.7
- XBRL Calculation 1.1 added as an option when generating an inline XBRL project for SEC jurisdiction
Draft ESRS XBRL Taxonomy
- Draft ESRS taxonomy can be visualized in taxonomy view. The draft taxonomy can be used to generate an inline XBRL document. A few limitations are present with this release such as extensible enumerations not available, for tagging a Boolean item type only true and false are accepted. Please note that to utilize the Draft ESRS taxonomy, you must activate the ESRS jurisdiction in the configuration file.

Known Issues
- C365 Reviewer - Validation messages that should be present at the Document level display in "first section"of the outline. This occurs when there is an HTML validation message that is identified within the first section of the outline.
- Filtering of facts within the Reviewer application will result in text block continuations to no longer be highlighted.
- Report creation/import wizard windows shrink and are not resizable, if you display the CDM application on the secondary monitor. You can display CDM on the primary monitor as a workaround.
- String tags that are in merged table cells get misplaced in page when HTML tables generation is enabled.
- When using the CDM Word add-in, outline item actions might result in Microsoft Word throwing the error message: A table in this document has become corrupted, when the outline item content is just a table.
- The user under which the CDM application pool runs should have the Write and Delete permissions for the Windows temporary folder. More information can be found in the Installation Guide.
Installation
You can deploy this version in the following ways.
Server
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As a stand-alone installation by selecting Use existing databases or Empty databases, if you already have CDM database(s) from previous versions and a known encryption key. If you do not remember your encryption key, you can obtain it using the Get Encryption Key utility provided with this release being run on the previous version of CDM prior to uninstalling it, or from Certent CDM Support. You can also use a previously exported key by directly selecting it in the installer instead of typing it down.
- As an upgrade from 20.3.1 or later.
- If you are using XBRL or Inline XBRL, you should deploy/update Arelle on the same box with the CDM Server that is provided alongside the CDM installers. The XBRL Dependencies package has been discontinued.
- This version is compatible with Arelle release 2.25.4. Before installing this Arelle version, you should uninstall and clean up temporary files created by your previous Arelle installation, by following the instructions on KB - Arelle Upgrade 2022.10.28.
Client
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM Client.
- Supports multiple client instances on the same box.
ClickOnce
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM publishing server.
- Due to the change from 32-bit to 64-bit of the Certent CDM Client, previously installed client via ClickOnce will not be automatically upgraded upon start up. You should remove and redeploy the client when upgrading from a version earlier than 20.3.1.
- Remove Certent CDM from Programs and Features.
- Access the publishing server URL.
- Click the Install button.
