Documents in a Project

From the Certent 365 website, you can review and manage documents in the project you are working with.

Manage Documents

Clicking the Manage Documents button on the Project Details page opens the Documents page where you can manage documents in the project.

Note: Only users with the Owner or Author team role can manage the documents in a project.

The Documents page displays a list of the documents in the project, you can point to any document and leverage the ellipsis for options to work with the document.

  • Edit
    Edits the document in the CDM Word add-in.
  • Rename
    Renames the document. Disabled for an exhibit document.
  • Delete
    Deletes the document from the project. When you delete a document, all associated files of the document will be removed at the same time.
  • Review
    Reviews the document in the Reviewer application.
  • Download
    Downloads a zip archive with all files related to the document.
  • Versions
    Reviews versions of the document.
  • Details
    Opens the Document Files page to review all outputs associated with the document.

Add Document

From the Documents page, you can also leverage the Add Document button to add more documents to the project, either from existing documents or from blank.

  • To add a Word document saved in your local system to the project, click Add Document > From Existing, then navigate to select the document and click Open.
  • To add a new document to the project, click Add Document > From Blank. A blank document named New Document is added.

The newly added documents are distinguished by a glimmer icon, and they are under the same security control as with the existing documents in the project. Only users with the appropriate permissions can perform tasks on them.

Document Tile

The Documents tile on the Project Details page shows the documents that are part of the project. The ellipsis next to the name of a document provides you options for reviewing, downloading, and viewing versions and details of the document.

You can also point to a document to view output files associated with the document in a quick way. To get a full list of the files, click See Details or See more to open the Document Files page. Clicking the Download icon allows you to download a zip archive containing all these files.
