Import CDM Report

You may need to import a CDM report that has been exported, such as when working with Certent CDM Support.

Required Permission

To import reports, you should have the following permission allowed:

Application Permissions > Security and Workflow > Import Report

Before You Begin

  • If you are using an XBRL project and do not already have the current version of the associated version of the taxonomy in your environment, import it before beginning (see Import Taxonomy).
  • Verify you know the password for the .cdm file.
  • If you are new to this report, verify you know the appropriate custom groups to use.

Import a Report

To import a previously exported CDM report:

  1. If you are importing a report that has an associated XBRL project, verify that the taxonomy has already been imported or already exists (see Import Taxonomy).
  2. If the export has XBRL associated, it may be a .zip file. Extract the .cdm file.
  3. In CDM, navigate to File > Administration > Reports.
  4. In the Reports tab in the work area, click on the report group you'd like to add it to, then click Home > Import.
  5. On the Details page, click Browse. Find for the location of the .cdm file. Click on it, then click Open.
  6. Enter the password, then click Next.
  7. On the Filing page, review the associated filings shown. Click Next.
  8. On the Projects page, select the checkbox if you'd like to import the associated XBRL project as well, then click Next.
  9. On the Taxonomies page, from Map taxonomy to, select the taxonomy for the project to use. Click Next.
  10. On the Aspects page, review and address any conflicts that are noted here. Then click Finish.
  11. Progress will show on the status bar on the bottom right of your screen. When complete, refresh your reports list to see it, or use File > Open to navigate to the new report.
  12. If necessary, update data connection details, such as server name and credentials, to ensure that data will refresh appropriately.

Resolve Conflicts for Imported Aspects

You may be importing aspects which already exist in your environment. This commonly occurs with transformation that share the same name. During import, you can specify how CDM should resolve each conflict, from these options:

  • Use existing
Uses the version of the aspect that already exists in your environment
  • Rename
Allows you to create a new name to differentiate it from the one by the same name that already exists in your environment
