Validate XBRL Content
The Pivot Grid in CDM XBRL identifies any fact data that contains tags with conflicting content. If you find conflicts, you must resolve the errors.
By validating your content frequently in CDM you can detect and correct problems as they occur. Detecting problems early makes fixing the errors easier and can help prevent further errors.
You must resolve any fact data that contains tags with conflicting content, such as differing monetary values. In the Pivot Grid, facts that contain conflicting tag content are highlighted in red. Hover over the intersection to view a warning message. You can remove all tags that are associated with a fact by selecting the fact and clicking Delete Items. Or, you can review and correct tagging associations from the Tag Inspector tab.
To validate XBRL content:
- Open the project that you want to work with.
- Click Home > Validate. The Validation window opens.
- The Jurisdiction section displays the jurisdiction the validation is for.
- In the Refresh section, select an option to refresh the data in the report that is associated with the project.
- In the Validation section, select one or more of the available validation options.
- Click OK. The data is validated.
- If the validation identifies conflicts, select the facts in the Pivot Grid that contain conflicts.

Tip: You can view all tags in the project by using the Tag Inspector tab without the Pivot Grid open by selecting Project from the Show all tags in the following location drop-down list in the Tag Inspector tab.
