ESMA ESEF Filing Manual
Addition of 4 recommended rules:
- Inclusion of inline XBRL documents in report packages that follows the Report Package Specifications 1.0 (.xbri)
For the ESMA-ESEF jurisdiction, when an ESMA ESEF inline XBRL project is generated, the output will be an archive file with the .xbri extension, referred to as the Inline XBRL report package, in accordance with the recommended Report Package Specifications 1.0. Please note that this rule is not enabled by default. To enable it, you need to set the
GenerateXbriForESMAconfiguration key totrue. - Naming convention for report packages and report file
A new Version option has been introduced in the ESMA XBRL project creation/edit screen. It has the default value of 0 and accepts values ranging from 0 to 9.
- Output file naming format for ESMA ESEF XBRL projects
When generating an ESMA ESEF XBRL project, the output file will now follow this format: {base}-{date}-{version}-{lang}.xbri.
- {base} - Represents the LEI (Legal Entity Identifier) of the issuer or the issuer's name (or abbreviation). This component must be 20 characters or fewer.
- {date} - Represents the reporting period's end date in the YYYY-MM-DD format.
- {version} - Indicates the submission version of the report package. It is a single numeric character (0-9), appended after the date and separated by a hyphen-minus. For the initial submission, this will be set to 0, and it will increment by 1 for each subsequent resubmission.
- {lang} - Indicates the language of the report, using the ISO 639-1 two-letter language code.
- For ESMA ESEF data types
- String item types that are tagged and generated to Inline XBRL will now have the escape attribute set to "false".
- Facts with a data type of dtr-types:textBlockItemType shall always have the escape attribute set to "true".
European Banking Authority (EBA)
- A new option has been added to the generation UI, which allows users to generate the filing report in XBRL-CSV format. Please note that XBRL-CSV format can be used for TEST submissions only. DO NOT use it for filing submission to regulators.
