New Features
CDM Target Framework Updated to .NET 8.0
The CDM Server, web client, and Filing Wizard have now been upgraded to .NET 8, with dependencies from .NET 6 removed. As part of this upgrade, .NET 8 SDK and Hosting Bundle (v8.0.11) are now required for CDM installation both on the Server machine and load balancer machine.CDM Target Framework Updated to .NET 8.0.
Update Telerik Third Party Component to Version 2024.4.1213.462
The Telerik UI for WPF has been upgraded to version 2024.4.1213.462.
EDGAR Next Implementation
Enhancements to the SEC Filing Wizard in the web client include:
- Support for filing against the EDGAR Next APIs.
- Introduction of SecSettings.Production.json for adding client-specific information.
- To enable EDGAR Next, a Filer Token must be provided in the SecSettings.Production.json file.
- In the Filer Details step of the wizard:
- A checkbox now indicates whether the filing record uses EDGAR Next or Classical.
- If EDGAR Next is selected, the Password field is replaced by a User API Token field, where users can enter the token copied from EDGAR Filer Management.
Lock Specific Query Variables at Rollforward
A "Locked" checkbox is added to mark a query variable as not editable for users without the "Manage Query Variables" permission. When a variable is locked, users without permissions cannot update the variable at any level (application, report, or report object). This restriction applies to both rolling forward reports and managing report/report object variables.
Word Report Object Merging Enhancements
Updated the process to restore non-base styles when merging Word report objects during report generation.
Optimizations in Cache Eviction Process
Enhanced the cache eviction process by optimizing several stored procedures. Improvements were made for better cache key searches.
SQL Data Source Addition for Non-Sysadmin SQL Users
- Enabled the ability for non-sysadmin SQL users to create SQL Data Sources.
- Made the Database Drop-Down editable, allowing users to manually enter the database name and test the connection.

Server
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As a stand-alone installation by selecting Use existing databases or Empty databases, if you already have CDM database(s) from previous versions and a known encryption key. If you do not remember your encryption key, you can obtain it using the Get Encryption Key utility provided with this release being run on the previous version of CDM prior to uninstalling it, or from Certent CDM Support. You can also use a previously exported key by directly selecting it in the installer instead of typing it down.
- As an upgrade from 20.3.1 or later.
- If you are using XBRL or Inline XBRL, you should deploy/update Arelle on the same box with the CDM Server that is provided alongside the CDM installers. The XBRL Dependencies package has been discontinued.
- This version is compatible with Arelle release 2.35.9. Before installing this Arelle version, you should uninstall and clean up temporary files created by your previous Arelle installation, by following the instructions on KB - Arelle Upgrade 2022.10.28.
Client
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM Client.
- Supports multiple client instances on the same box.
ClickOnce
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM publishing server.
- Due to the change from 32-bit to 64-bit of the Certent CDM Client, previously installed client via ClickOnce will not be automatically upgraded upon start up. You should remove and redeploy the client when upgrading from a version earlier than 20.3.1.
- Remove Certent CDM from Programs and Features.
- Access the publishing server URL.
- Click the Install button.
