25.3.0 Release Notes

September 2025

CDM Client: (Core | Filing | XBRL) 25.3.0.31891

CDM Server: 25.3.0.31891

This is a CDM general incremental release that aims to enhance the existing product features and address a series of defects found on previous versions.

New Features

EBA Validation Rules Updated Architecture

To ensure continued compliance with evolving European Banking Authority (EBA) regulatory requirements, CDM Filing Solution has been enhanced to support updated EBA validation rule expression syntax and its new architecture. These enhancements guarantee that CDM remains fully compatible with the EBA filing frameworks, including upcoming XBRL taxonomy releases and validations at both form and report levels.

Key enhancements include:

  • Support for new expression syntax

CDM now supports the updated grammar of EBA validation rules.

  • Improved expression language engine

CDM's expression language has been extended to evaluate logical, mathematical, and conditional constructs as defined by the EBA's latest architecture.

  • Severity handling

CDM now displays the severity of validation rules as declared by EBA.

EBA Taxonomy Files for XBRL CSV Generation

The EBA XBRL CSV generation process now allows you to specify a custom path for EBA Taxonomy files directly in the Web.config file on the CDM Server side. This replaces the previous use of a temporary folder. The path should be defined within the <Filing> section using the <XbrlCsvTaxonomy path="" /> attribute.

SEC - CYD 2025 Taxonomy

CDM now supports the US SEC Cybersecurity Taxonomy (CYD) 2025 Taxonomy.

IFRS 2025 for SEC Taxonomy

CDM now supports the IFRS 2025 for SEC Taxonomy.

Arelle and DQC Version Updates

  • Arelle Version: 2.37.37
  • DQC Version: 27
  • Edgar Renderer: 25.2

Note: DQC messages for IFRS taxonomies will appear if only the DQC option is explicitly selected while doing inline generation. By default, when all options are selected, DQC validations are not performed for IFRS taxonomies.

Other Enhancements

  • Show proper error message while generation interrupts in Office 2019

CDM now displays a message when an exception is encountered during xhtml generation (when Office 2019 is present).

  • Fixed the overwrite issue of Excel data query on concurrent edit

CDM fixes the issue where editing a second data query during an ongoing save of the first would incorrectly copy values between queries. The UI now disables editing and deleting actions while a save operation is in progress to ensure data consistency.

  • Ability to remove the extra space at the end of objects when page reference variables are used

CDM introduces a new config key RemoveNewLineCharacterAtReportGeneration exclusively for customers using page reference variables in their report/report objects. The default value of this key is false. When you set the key to true explicitly, CDM removes the extra space at the end of report objects. Please note that, this behavior might impact calculation of ToC variables as deleting extra spaces will cause the content of objects to shift upwards.

  • Display circular variable dependency message and the variables involved

CDM now displays circular dependency message with the report object and variables involved in the circular dependency. CDM displays the message both when a report object involved is opened and during the report generation process.

Security Fixes

CDM resolved a few security issues in this release, including CER-54515, CER-55937, CER-54895, CER-54346, and CER-57342. Details are available upon request.

Known Issues

  • DQC validation behavior with different generation options. For IFRS for SEC extension taxonomies, DQC runs when the DQC option is selected from UI. When all three options are selected, the DQC rules for an IFRS taxonomy are not displayed in UI.
  • [OBDF] ExecuteQuery and RefreshQuery tasks are failing if multiple data queries of same data source are used in one report object.
  • [Filing Wizard] "Period End Date" and "Submission Format" fields are not updated after changes to report and XBRL project.
  • [Filing Wizard] Co-registrants are not present in the "Include multi-registrant" list of the Filing Wizard.
  • [Filing Wizard] User can proceed with form type selection and Filing Wizard steps having Form Type: Other set in XBRL project.
  • Specific tabular border rows might have spaces added in the border.
  • Specific border line might not have the same width from one end of the border to the other.
  • Specific bottom border line might not be present after report generation.

Installation

You can deploy this version in the following ways.

Server

  • As a stand-alone fresh installation.
  • As a stand-alone installation by selecting Use existing databases or Empty databases, if you already have CDM database(s) from previous versions and a known encryption key. If you do not remember your encryption key, you can obtain it using the Get Encryption Key utility provided with this release being run on the previous version of CDM prior to uninstalling it, or from Certent CDM Support. You can also use a previously exported key by directly selecting it in the installer instead of typing it down.
  • As an upgrade from 20.3.1 or later.
  • If you are using XBRL or Inline XBRL, you should deploy/update Arelle on the same box with the CDM Server that is provided alongside the CDM installers. The XBRL Dependencies package has been discontinued.
  • This version is compatible with Arelle release 2.37.37. Before installing this Arelle version, you should uninstall and clean up temporary files created by your previous Arelle installation, by following the instructions on KB - Arelle Upgrade 2022.10.28.

Client

  • As a stand-alone fresh installation.
  • As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM Client.
  • Supports multiple client instances on the same box.

ClickOnce

  • As a stand-alone fresh installation.
  • As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM publishing server.
  • Due to the change from 32-bit to 64-bit of the Certent CDM Client, previously installed client via ClickOnce will not be automatically upgraded upon start up. You should remove and redeploy the client when upgrading from a version earlier than 20.3.1.
    1. Remove Certent CDM from Programs and Features.
    2. Access the publishing server URL.
    3. Click the Install button.
