26.1.0 Release Notes
March 2026
CDM Client: (Core | Filing | XBRL) 26.1.0
CDM Server: 26.1.0
This is a CDM general incremental release that aims to enhance the existing product features and address a series of defects found on previous versions.
Feature Enhancements
-
Swashbuckle.AspNetCore Upgrade
CDM was using an older version of its built-in help documentation page (called Swagger UI). This older version had a known security weakness that was flagged during routine security checks.
We upgraded the documentation page to the latest secure version and the reported security vulnerability has been resolved.
No changes to how you use CDM – all features work the same way. This update simply makes CDM more secure and helps pass security compliance checks.
-
CDM Server MSI Digital Signing Update
The CDM Server installer has been updated to digitally sign the server .msi package using our DigiCert code-signing certificate. This applies to both fresh installations and upgrades. Previously, only setup.exe was signed.
-
Image Range Variable Not Updated When EEF Data Source Switches to Excel with More Rows
Fixed the issue where Image Range variables in Excel retained old dimensions after rollforward.
Dimensions are now updated correctly when refresh after copy is enabled.
-
Consistent Hyperlinks
Hyperlinks in inline XBRL are rendered in browser native format even when includeLines = true. It is recommended to use default Word style for hyperlinks for best results in inline viewer.
-
Ignore Right Margin Alignment Where Wrap Text Is Enabled for String/Numeric Cells
Right-margin padding is now correctly excluded when text wrapping is enabled (via base style or conditional formatting), ensuring wrapped content displays as Excel renders it without unintended spacing for both numeric and string cells.
-
Ignore Right Margin Alignment for Negative Number with Parenthesis for String Cells
Resolved an issue where right-margin padding was incorrectly applied to text cells when converting Excel tables to Word output.
The alignment processor now correctly distinguishes between numeric and string cells, ensuring that only numeric cells with custom number formats (e.g., _(#,##0_);(#,##0)) receive the compensating right-margin spacing. This ensures generated documents more accurately replicate Excel's visual alignment, particularly for columns containing mixed numeric and text data.
-
Roll Forward: Updated Package Selection & Extended Support
The Roll Forward package selection drop-down now displays package codes (e.g., EBA, EBA_DPM2.0) for clearer identification. This update also resolves an issue where reports created or imported prior to version 25.2.0 did not show EBA DPM 1.0 or EBA DPM 2.0 options in the Roll Forward dialog.
Roll Forward to Target Packages support has been extended to include Imorep and ConRisk packages. With this enhancement, the Target DPM Version drop-down is now displayed when more than one target package code is available for roll forward.
-
OBDF Numeric Values Not Represented as Numbers in Excel
Fixed an issue where numeric values from OBDF queries were written to Excel as text, causing formulas to fail.
Numeric values are now correctly stored as numbers, ensuring Excel formulas work as expected.
-
Adding Base Currency Dynamically to Generate XBRL CSV
Fixed Base Currency by adding it dynamically to generate XBRL CSV based presence of the monetary data type values in forms.
-
Scripts with Query Variables No Longer Fail with Internal Server Error for IBM DB2
From v25.3, scripts using Query Variables in relational queries could fail at runtime and return an Internal Server Error, preventing the query from executing. This issue is now fixed—scripts with query variables run successfully again across supported relational data sources, without triggering server errors.

Security Fixes
CDM resolved a few security issues in this release, including CER-59804 , CER-59805, CER-59807, CER-59808, and CER-59810. Details are available upon request.
Known Issues
- DQC validation behavior with different generation options. For IFRS for SEC extension taxonomies, DQC runs when the DQC option is selected from UI. When all three options are selected, the DQC rules for an IFRS taxonomy are not displayed in UI.
- [OBDF] ExecuteQuery and RefreshQuery tasks are failing if multiple data queries of same data source are used in one report object.
- [Filing Wizard] "Period End Date" and "Submission Format" fields are not updated after changes to report and XBRL project.
- [Filing Wizard] Co-registrants are not present in the "Include multi-registrant" list of the Filing Wizard.
- [Filing Wizard] User can proceed with form type selection and Filing Wizard steps having Form Type: Other set in XBRL project.
- Specific tabular border rows might have spaces added in the border.
- Specific border line might not have the same width from one end of the border to the other.
- Specific bottom border line might not be present after report generation.
Installation
You can deploy this version in the following ways.
Server
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As a stand-alone installation by selecting Use existing databases or Empty databases, if you already have CDM database(s) from previous versions and a known encryption key. If you do not remember your encryption key, you can obtain it using the Get Encryption Key utility provided with this release being run on the previous version of CDM prior to uninstalling it, or from Certent CDM Support. You can also use a previously exported key by directly selecting it in the installer instead of typing it down.
- As an upgrade from 20.3.1 or later.
- If you are using XBRL or Inline XBRL, you should deploy/update Arelle on the same box with the CDM Server that is provided alongside the CDM installers. The XBRL Dependencies package has been discontinued.
- This version is compatible with Arelle release 2.37.37. Before installing this Arelle version, you should uninstall and clean up temporary files created by your previous Arelle installation, by following the instructions on KB - Arelle Upgrade 2022.10.28.
Client
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM Client.
- Supports multiple client instances on the same box.
ClickOnce
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As an update over previous versions of the Certent CDM publishing server.
- Due to the change from 32-bit to 64-bit of the Certent CDM Client, previously installed client via ClickOnce will not be automatically upgraded upon start up. You should remove and redeploy the client when upgrading from a version earlier than 20.3.1.
- Remove Certent CDM from Programs and Features.
- Access the publishing server URL.
- Click the Install button.
