26.3.0 Release Notes
September 2026
CDM Client: (Core | Filing | XBRL) 26.3.0
CDM Server: 26.3.0
This is a CDM general incremental release that aims to enhance the existing product features and address a series of defects found on previous versions.
New Features
XBRL & Regulatory
-
Default Calculation 1.1 for ESMA and SEC inline/instance generation
CDM changed the default calculation type to Calculation 1.1 (Round to Nearest) for SEC (inline and instance generation/validation) and ESMA (inline generation). All other jurisdictions are unchanged and continue to use as before.
-
EIOPA XBRL Validation Now Correctly Displays Severity Type (Warning/Error)
CDM now correctly reflects the severity type (Warning or Error) from the EIOPA taxonomy for each validation rule in the XBRL Validation output. A new ValidationRuleType column has been added to the XBRL Validation Excel export showing the correct severity classification for every rule. Previously, all validation messages displayed as Error regardless of the taxonomy-defined severity, causing users to incorrectly treat warning-level rules as critical errors.
-
Added Column-Level Currency Support for EIOPA Solvency II Forms
The system now allows a separate currency to be assigned to a specific column when the form meets the required conditions. Monetary facts for that column are generated using the selected currency, while the report currency and other monetary values remain unchanged. Users are warned when a column uses a currency that differs from the report currency.
-
Dutch Taxonomy Support NT20 (NL KVK)
CDM added support for two Dutch taxonomy approaches. NT20 (NL KVK) is CDM’s native based implementation, SEC-style using pivot grid, with jurisdiction selectable as "NL KVK" in the drop-down when creating XBRL projects. SBR NL KVK is the separate inline-XBRL approach, ESMA/ESEF-style document-based rendering, with jurisdiction selectable as "SBR NL KVK".
-
Generate Empty CSV Files for Printable DORA Forms
Printable DORA forms with no reported data now generate header-only CSV files in the filing ZIP. This keeps the filing indicators consistent with the ZIP contents and allows submissions to pass downstream validation without manually adding empty files.
-
Date Transformations Now Support Excel Date Cells in iXBRL Generation
CDM now correctly applies date-to-date transformations to genuine Excel date cells during iXBRL generation. The resulting date tags are rendered visibly and no longer produce transformation value errors in the validation pane or external validators such as Arelle.
-
SEC Filing Package No Longer Includes Empty Definition Linkbase References
For SEC taxonomy filings, CDM now omits definition linkbase files and XSD linkbase references when the definition linkbase has no extended links. This prevents EDGAR and Arelle validation errors such as EFM.6.03.03.noLinkElement triggered by empty definition linkbase artifacts in generated DEF 14A packages. When definition linkbase data exists, CDM continues to generate and preserve the definition linkbase and its XSD reference.
-
Updated EDGAR Next API to Use Non-Deprecated Fields
CDM updated EDGAR Next integration to align with the SEC's latest API response format by using the current status field for submission status tracking, replacing a deprecated field. Filing status checks continue to work reliably with EDGAR Next, reducing risk of status retrieval issues as the SEC phases out legacy fields.
Taxonomy & Cache Management
-
Export and Import Cache
The CDM Cache Manager now includes Export and Import capabilities, allowing users to save the full cache or selected folders as an archive file. Exported archives can be imported into any CDM instance, restoring cached taxonomy entries without re-adding files individually. A new option to export missing cache URLs enables users to identify and review gaps in the cache. These enhancements simplify taxonomy cache management and streamline the process of transferring cache data between CDM environments or machines.
Platform & Administration
-
Access CDM Server Log Files from Site Administration
Administrators can now access CDM Server log files directly from Site Administration instead of opening a support ticket. The log file browser supports filtering by log type, filename search, pagination, and downloading log files.
-
Duende IdentityServer License Renewed
The Duende IdentityServer license used by CDM's Identity Server component has been renewed, extending its validity through September 2027. This prevents license-expiry warnings on startup and ensures identity/login services continue to operate without interruption. No customer action is required.
-
Hide Inactive Users
Administrators can now hide inactive users from the Users, Groups, Associate Users with Groups, Application Permissions, and Report Permissions screens. A new "Hide Inactive" toggle button on the Home ribbon's Security group filters out inactive users. The toggle state is retained for the current session and only appears on supported screens.
-
HFM DataSourceConnector Upgraded to JDK 25
The HFM DataSourceConnector has been upgraded to run on JDK 25, restoring the ability to connect to HFM servers running newer, supported Java versions. Previously, connections failed when the HFM server used a Java version newer than JDK 8. Both unsecured and secured HFM connections now work correctly, and HFM formulas resolve as expected.
Performance
-
Faster First-Time Report Generation for Large Reports
For reports built on objects with a high number of source variables (several hundred or more), first report generation after a cache reset (e.g., after check-in/check-out, full refresh, or variable change) could take noticeably longer than later runs. Optimized how source variables are saved to cache during refresh, reducing redundant processing for large objects. In testing, this cut refresh time for high-source-variable objects by roughly 30%, with an overall reduction in total report generation time. Report output is unaffected.
-
Fixed Inaccurate Performance Timing During Concurrent Document Operations
Performance timing recorded during document check-out, check-in, and refresh operations could previously be inaccurate when multiple operations ran at the same time, because one operation's timing could interfere with another's. Timing is now tracked independently per operation, so reported durations remain accurate under concurrent use.
Other Enhancements
-
Filing Package Cell Comments Now Display "Certent" as the Comment Author
The author label shown in cell comments within generated filing packages was incorrectly displaying a value other than "Certent". Filing packages now correctly display "Certent" as the comment author for all commented cells. Users should regenerate any affected filing packages to see the corrected author label applied consistently.
-
PDS Query Builder Layout Visibility
Fixed the PDS Query Builder layout so the generated OData query remains visible even when working with long field/filter lists.

Known Issues
- Migrating an ESEF project from a pre-2022 taxonomy to the 2022 taxonomy may fail in offline mode. This occurs because the offline cache contains only the two most recent taxonomy versions (2024 and 2025). Workaround: Migrate directly to 2024 or 2025, or use online mode (with internet connection) to migrate to 2022.
- DQC validation behavior with different generation options. For IFRS for SEC extension taxonomies, DQC runs when the DQC option is selected from UI. When all three options are selected, the DQC rules for an IFRS taxonomy are not displayed in UI.
- [OBDF] ExecuteQuery and RefreshQuery tasks are failing if multiple data queries of same data source are used in one report object.
- [Filing Wizard] "Period End Date" and "Submission Format" fields are not updated after changes to report and XBRL project.
- [Filing Wizard] Co-registrants are not present in the "Include multi-registrant" list of the Filing Wizard.
- [Filing Wizard] User can proceed with form type selection and Filing Wizard steps having Form Type: Other set in XBRL project.
- Specific tabular border rows might have spaces added in the border.
- Specific border line might not have the same width from one end of the border to the other.
- Specific bottom border line might not be present after report generation.
Installation
You can deploy this version in the following ways.
Server
- As a stand-alone fresh installation.
- As a stand-alone installation by selecting Use existing databases or Empty databases, if you already have CDM database(s) from previous versions and a known encryption key. If you do not remember your encryption key, you can obtain it using the Get Encryption Key utility provided with this release being run on the previous version of CDM prior to uninstalling it, or from Certent CDM Support. You can also use a previously exported key by directly selecting it in the installer instead of typing it down.
- As an upgrade from 20.3.1 or later.
- If you are using XBRL or Inline XBRL, you should deploy/update Arelle on the same box with the CDM Server that is provided alongside the CDM installers. The XBRL Dependencies package has been discontinued.
- This version is compatible with Arelle release 2.40.0. Before installing this Arelle version, you should uninstall and clean up temporary files created by your previous Arelle installation, by following the instructions on KB - Arelle Upgrade 2022.10.28.
Client
