SEC Filing Wizard
The SEC Filing Wizard provides CDM's SEC customers with the ability to test and live file certain submissions with the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission's Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval (EDGAR) system.
Prior to using the Filing Wizard, verify the Administrator has completed the Filing Wizard setup.
Before You Begin
Prior to filing, verify these:
- Your SEC credentials are available and your password is not expired.
- You have your user API token and filer API token and the filer API token has been added in the SecSetting.Production.json file of the Filing Wizard server, if you have enrolled in EDGAR Next and want to file using the new system. See Generate API Tokens for additional information.
- Your timing of filing is planned with sufficient time to spare and during EDGAR hours of operation.
- XBRL tagging is complete.
- Validation is complete, with errors cleared and warnings reviewed.
- Review of HTML is complete and the output is acceptable.
- The submission package has been created in CDM.
- The submission package is up to date, including any necessary changes. See Update the Filing Submission Package.
- Filing Wizard report and application permissions are assigned to your user for the appropriate reports in CDM.
Use the Filing Wizard
After logging in to Certent 365, the Filing Wizard will walk you through pages to set up your filing.
- In the Certent 365 landing page, right-click a project or click the ellipsis on a project and select Filing Wizard.
- Form page - This page allows you to review and complete the Form information.
- Files page - This page contains steps on choosing files to be submitted and reviewing the filing information.
- Filer Details page - This page contains steps on entering filer information, specifying form type related settings, and providing contact and notification details.
- Validation page - This page is for you to view the validation messages from CDM that were present when the submission package was created.
- Submission page - This page allows you to complete the filing submission to the SEC and view filings that have been updated on the filing landing page.
